Kate has her pre-surgical testing today at Children's Mercy. We begin with Radiology and then on to Dr. Gatti's office (Pediatric Urologist) to discuss any changes within the last few months We will also be scheduling her surgery. We have very little concern about her kidney function or the duplicate ureter as she has shown no indication of having any issues whatsoever. In fact, we keep thinking that, had I not measured large in my 37th week, there would be no hint that Kate had any type of malformation whatsoever. Both Jason and I realize it's in her best interst to have corrective surgery, we just hate to see her go thru it if it doesn't affect her quality of life...but we also understand that it very well could later on down the road. Regardless, we are so grateful that she, along with our other two little one's, are seemingly healthy and vibrant children. We couldn't ask for more or be more blessed...
UPDATE: Nothing has changed as far as what was seen earlier. Surgery scheduled for Dec. 18th. We were told to expect her to be there for 2-3 days for recovery. My two week Christmas Break from school will allow plenty of time to devote to her after the surgery is complete.

Oh that sweet baby. Emily, she is going to do wonderfully. It probably doesn't seem like it right now, but soon this will all be behind you and never worry you again. She is such a strong, bright beauty that will show us all a thing or two. You know she is always in our prayers - and you too, because I bet you are worrying and need to know everyone is on your side!
