Beach Vacation Photos

I think Jason & I literally took over 200 pictures...but here are a few (well, not really just a few...but I just can't help it).

In the midst of our vacation...

Jason was able to get the laptop hooked up to wireless here at the beach house so I thought I would quickly blog about our vacation so far before I forget all the fun things we have had the opportunity to do so far. Our flight was pretty uneventful...thank goodness. Both boys did so well. I can't imagine a better place for a relaxing family vacation! The weather out here has been amazing with temps in the upper 80's with cool ocean breezes and warm bathwater like temps. All of our evening meals have been spent outside on the deck overlooking the surf. Does it get any better than that?

We are staying in Corolla this year...the resort community of Corolla Light. We have ocean front views from the back of the beach house and views of the Currituck Lighthouse from the front. It's been a great family oriented place with five pools, tennis courts, athletic center and tons of family activities.

Jonathan was petrified of the ocean and irritated by the sand last year. What a difference a year makes. He loves the sand and we can't keep him out of the ocean. He even tried to drag a boogie board in the water strapped to his wrist just like his daddy. So adorable! Despite being pregnant and a mother of two, I've had my fun out on the boogie board as well. (Sorry, no photos of that escapade) Jason and I have enjoyed late night walks on the beach together and Jonathan and I have enjoyed early morning walks chasing seagulls and splashing in the surf. Jonathan flew his first kite on the beach with Daddy on Tuesday. Nicholas prefers the oceanfront baby pool, which we frequent in the evenings. He's been such a good baby on this trip. Jonathan has had several little temper tantrums typical of his age and we aren't really sure how our family beach portraits will turn out this year. What can you do? We visited the Aquarium yesterday and even Nicholas had fun giggling when we saw the turtles. So cute. This annual vacation is only going to get sweeter the older our boys get. There is so much to do, and at the same time, so laid back and relaxing. Just as a vacation should be! No agenda...just wake up and go with the flow. I'll blog more later and be sure to add tons of pictures when we return home Saturday. :)
